My early years were in Bellingham, my birth city. Then after the family moved to Seattle, I attended Greenwood Elementary, After the 6th grade, the family moved again to Ballard where I attended James Monroe and then Ballard High, graduating in June 1970 as I remember at the Arena at the Seattle Center. I moved to Alaska during the early years of the 70's and came back attending the University of Washington in the school of Architecture and Urban Planning and getting my degree in Landscape Architecture. Going to school, I had a lot of different jobs, from busing tables at the Swedish Club restaurant, working for an insurance firm, and working as a mail handler and carrier for the US post office after passing the civil service exams to name a few jobs. I spent my professional career working as a landscape architect and urban planner, retiring in February 2015.
