Life
After graduating in 1956, I continued my education at Eastern Illinois University for the next two years. I then started my career in the springmaking business with Associated Spring Corp.I started on the mfg floor as an operator/setup man. In 1966 I was promoted to the estimating dept. I was then promoted again in 1968 to the position of mfg/product engineer. I pretty well spent the remainder of my working years in this capacity because it was what I enjoyed doing.I was with Associated Spring for twenty five years. My job did allow me to travel some and I met a lot of very nice people. I spent a year in Corry Pa with Associated Spring. Then it was back to Mattoon with Peterson Spring for about five years. pril of 2000. Most of my family is in Mattoon also. My mother still lives here. My oldest daughter is Denise Verdeyen(husband Pat). My youngest daughter is Renee Spitz (husband Tim). They have blessed me with five wonderfull grandchildren who keep me busy trying to keep up with them. The rest of the time I spend with a very special lady, Chearie Myers (Harper in high school). I also am getting in some golf. UPDATE!!!! I am pleased to announce that Chearie is now Mrs Chearie Lindsay. We were married on Dec 21,2001.
I have some very very sad news. On Feb 21, 2012 I lost my lovely wife Chearie. She was diagnosed with Aplastic Anemea ( bone marrow quit producing ) last July 28th and we spent the next 7 months fighting the disease. Bless her heart, she was a fighter! She is now at rest with God and the pain and suffering is over.
Missing you terribly sweatheart. I love you.
