Jerry's Story
Jerry is from San Pedro, California. My schools include Barton Hill, Cabrillo Ave., 7th Street Elementary Schools, Dana Jr. High School, San Pedro High School, L.A. Harbor College in Wilmington, CA and graduated from CSU - Long Beach (B.S. in Health Science). Before graduating from CSULB, I started my 1st water polo head coaching at Miraleste HS in RPV. While I was employed a real estate agent until 1982. I stepped away from coaching in 1978 and didn't return to coaching until 1990 where I coached at Palos Verdes & Peninsula HS until 1994. I now officiate collegiate and high school water polo games and when I'm not officiating and in the summers, I started working again for the L.A. County Fire Department, Lifeguard Division in June 2000 where I 1st started my initial career in 1972 to 1977. I compete with the L.A. County Lifeguard Association Surf Lifesaving (LACoSLSA) National Team where WE won 27 straight National Team championships and have won several individual national titles along the way. I retired from the Boeing Company in January 2013. I currently reside in Long Beach, CA with my wife Janice and we are proud grandfather of 5 (3 handsome grandsons & 2 cute granddaughters).
