Jerry's Story
Jerry served in the US Air Force for 4 years during which time, he schooled as an electronic cryptographic repairman with a Top Secret Crypto Clearance. After the Air Force, he spent a year in Thule, Greenland tracking satellites and a year in Thailand installing a communications system to save money to get back to college.
He went back to El Camino as an engineering major, during which time he participated in student government and was Sophomore class President. While at El Camino, he met and married his life's companion, Arlene Coloma, who was an RN. he made the radical departure to go into business for himself (and eventually a brother) by buying his 1st crane. He went to school nights at Cal State Dominguez Hills to earn an MBA. In the following years he returned to El Camino at night to take fun classes he missed the 1st time around like music, piano, astronomy, French, Japanese, Excel, etc. He is still in the crane business and is a Real Estate Broker. He also owns apartments and self storage units in Alabama.
Jerry and Arlene had a son in 1971 and a daughter in 1975. they also have 2 grandsons.
Still not retired, though Arlene is. Arlene lives full time in a big house in Lake Arrowhead. Jerry is there weekends, until he sells the crane business.
