Jerry's Story
I started dating Lauree Larsen (from Savanna class of '67) the summer after high school. Went to Fullerton J. C. and Fresno State. Lauree and I finally got married in '71 and we're still in love after 44 years. After we got married, we traveled around the U.S. in a VW camper with 10 Irish Setter puppies for several months, started a water bed shop in Fresno with my brother and then moved to Beatty NV in '74 to study with a guru. er, we designed and built a passive solar house in the woods. The oil industry crashed in '86 and we were transferred to Bartlesville, OK where I headed up the corporate land/real estate group for Phillips Petroleum. We were transferred to Houston in '89. I left Phillips in '95 and started LandWorks, Inc. a software company which Lauree and I have run together for the past 20 years. We have offices in Houston and Denver and close to 100 employees with installations all over the U.S., Canada Spain and Portugal. We are trying to sell the company so we can retire in Austin, Texas. We have a daughter, two sons and five grandsons. Somewhere along the way we acquired an open-air palapa in the jungle overlooking the river and beach in the small Mexican fishhing village of Yelapa (near Puerto Vallarta). I spend as much time there as I can.
