Jerry's Story
Life
I often wonder what became of old friends. I know many have passed on. I recently move to Alb. NM after 10 years in the East Coast, where I provided muliptle services to non-English speaking Latinos. I was also a Court Interpreter, and emerged as the spokesperson of the burgeoning Mexican community. I have had an interesting life, rich with varied experiences, and have developed into a true RENAISSANCE MAN with muliple skills. I love to dance, photography, writing, reading, and lots of laughter, but also enjoy engaging conversations on many topics. My interest are broad and I love learning and experiencing new things. Most importantly, I work diligently on my spiritual development, which keeps me in balance and at peace. I am single, have one son, Jerry Jr. age 31, and one grandson, Diego, age 12. I want to share a couple of my poems which I hope you find thought provoking. I wonder how many of my old class and school mates still remember me.
Diversity
Jerry Javier Lujan
Autumn is upon us, and the trees EXPLODE into their
Diverse array of living colors
Reminiscent of the changing phases of
The Life giving sun.
Ponder the mighty oak...the elm and mapleâ¦
In the brief period before they restâ¦
Their LEAVES!!!!!
Individually and collectively
Bursting out with their reflections,
Like crystals of a living chandelier.
Look! Listen as they tell their story!
Each, in its own unique colorful way
Shares its own reflection, its perspective
Of the collective experience, they are a part of.
Just as every tree spreads its root...Expand for more
s,
â¦So does every leaf of every branch
Reach out into spaces, in time,
Only it alone can go!!!
Each one so different, so unique,
Yet so much alikeâ¦
Each a part of the same Essence!!
Now, just stand back
And look at the entire forest
Each tree as individual and unique
As each leaf of each tree,
So different, yet so much alike!!
Look at the mixture of trees.
Their resplendent beauty draws you nearâ¦
Listen to them as they whisper and sing their storyâ¦
Vibrating voices singing in the windâ¦
Multicolored leaves of ambers, reds and golden browns,
Like the ever changing faces of the sun.
DESTINY?
By Jerry Javier Lujan
A few moments, a few hours, a few days...
But many recurring thoughts...
Of days past...of fantasies lived...
Of ecstasies felt, and feelings expressed,
Of moments shared and memories concealed.
Days of nostalgia and Melancholiaâ¦
Of dreams that could have been...
Of realities that became,
Molded and imprinted by unknown lives,
Unknown Destinies that sweep a life awayâ¦
Like streams and rivers wash away those
Tiny grains of sand and deposit them
Unto unknown lands and places...
Grains of sand that only await the Unknown Force
To merely wash then away once again...
From the unknown to the Unknown.
Between the floods and torrents in Life
One finds time to ponder on the paths
The floods of Life have taken one
From a toil to a toss to a turnâ¦
Do you ever sit and just wonder if what became
Was really meant to be...orâ¦
Was it merely accidental Chance?
