Jessica's Story
Life
Married since 1995 to a great guy I met at UC Santa Cruz. We have two kids - a boy who is about to enter kindergarten, and a girl who is about to turn 1. We live in Berkeley.
I'm teaching elementary school, and am finishing up a Master's. I really dig teaching; it suits me very well. I'm also really loving the research end of it also, and may end up going further with that. My specialty is math instruction.
When I'm not working or wrangling little ones, I love to garden, cook and drink cocktails on my patio. I never got over my love of bookstores; consequently my house resembles a used book store that some sort of lego-and-teething-toy-IED just went off in. ds or, most recently, Costa Rica.
We're also in PG pretty frequently too, as my parents still live in the house they bought in the '80s. Maybe you'll see us at the Feast of Lanterns fireworks show this year. My kids love 'splosions.
I'm super-liberal, but I'm a deadeye with a Glock. I feed my kids organic vegetables next to their Kraft mac-n-cheese. I read Neal Stephenson and William Gibson and Drudge and Fark and Lucky Magazine. I have a totally organic vegetable garden in my backyard and a dozen hopped-up rosebushes in my front yard that are addicted to every sort of plant drug on the planet. Most days, I wear my snarky pants, but I cried six separate times while watching "Knocked Up." So go figure.
