Jill's Story

Ok, now that I have joined Classmates for 3 months, I am going to shyly venture out with my story. Had some difficult years after high school, but I got through it. Went to Rutgers University College for 11 years at night for my BA while I worked at various places including Educational Testing Service. Got my Masters in Social Work (I see my ambition in our yearbook was social worker-and I thought I had no clue at the time!).Have enjoyed a number of clinical positions including outpatient psychotherapist. elf. Had many relationships before I eventually married (wanted to make sure I got it right). We traveled to China to adopt a baby who is now 19. She is living with us and attending community college. Have a 7yo granddaughter, my husband's daughter's child, who lives in NC. I am looking forward to the Nov 2013 reunion, having not attended any for many years. Right now I seem to be into reconnecting with my Somerville roots. I was an only child and both my parents are gone. I am surprised to be discovering a feeling of belonging from sharing school and town memories on Facebook. Like many in high school. I had angst about fitting in at the time. Now, I feel like no matter how different we are, we all share a common background and have managed to survive!
