Jim's Story
Hello to all my Elmo friends! Give me a moment to catch up on what I've been up to. After Elmo I went to Community College and worked odd jobs. Still trying to find myself. I quit school to work full time for Pacific Telephone in Santa Ana as a Splicing Technician. I always had an interest in law enforcement so after about five years at the phone company I put myself through the police academy. I successfully graduated #4 in the class of 50 and began my law enforcement career. Over the course of my 26 year career I worked in Anaheim, Placentia, Cathedral City and Carlsbad. Have gun, will travel! I retired from law enforcement in 2009 and in 2011 I was hired as the Manager of Ballpark Security at Petco Park, home of the San Diego Padres. o it all over, I'd stay at home and leach off the parents until I was done with college!!LOL
I married my beautiful wife Linda in 1981 and we're still married 38 years later. We have four very successful daughters, each talented in their own way. One is an area HR director for a major rental car company, one is a banker, one is a very busy hair stylist and the other is a homemaker with a very quick wit. Linda and I have nine grandchildren and live in Vista, CA.
Linda and I played in a classic rock cover band for about fifteen years and we played in a variety of locations in San Diego. Mainly bars on Friday and Saturday nights. But we'd hire ourselves out for private parties, too. We'd also donate our talent to organizations who were raising money for worthy causes such as a cancer walk and our church's annual bazaar.
That's what I've been up to since 1976! I'm glad I could share and I wish you all the best!
