Jim's Story
After high school, went to Univ of Cincinnati; was graduated in 1973 with BS in Mechanical Engineering. (Have been a licensed professional engineer since 1978).
Moved to Georgia, got married, had a son (he's now 32 and married for two years; no grandchildren by him yet). Wife had two other children, so have 14 grandchildren by her (we've been married for 32 years).
Still live in Georgia, but have been working for Jacobs Engineering in Los Alamos, New Mexico for the past 5 1/2 years (wife wants to eat and sleep in Georgia; f...Expand for more
or her to do that there, I have to eat, sleep, and work here).
I had two angioplasties in 1997; at that time, it was discovered that I had "John Ritter's disease". In 2005, my aortic aneurysm was operated on and I now have an artifical main aortic valve with a main aorta made out of dacron (praise the Lord for modern medicine). This is much better than the alternative, as was John Ritter's "option".
The office here in Los Alamos closes at the end of May; I am then scheduled to go to the Jacobs office in Oak Ridge, Tennessee.
