Jim's Story
Got to start somewhere so ...I recently retired as an Electrical Inspector in Alberta and have now moved to Puerto Morelos (located 30 minutes south of Cancun) Mexico.
After I left school I went to work as an apprentice electrician in Alberta and once I recieved my journeyman' ticket I traveled around and worked in in various locations in Canada and the U.S.
I always swore that I would never marry before the age of 30 and as things turned out that is exactly what happened, I got married in 1986 and have 3 children (two boys and a girl) and now have a grandaughter from my eldest son. In 2006, shortly after returning...Expand for more
from our 20th anniversary in Mexico my wife decided that as the kids had grown up and were moving out of home that she needed some time to herself and as a result I am now divoriced and single.
Seeing that I was single again, the kids grown up and no payments to make and the best money that I had ever made the travel fever hit me and I fell in love with the Caribean area and have since purchased a new home in Puerto Morelos where I am now living permanently. The weather is great, the people friendly and the cost of living is low enough that I can live quite comfortably down here.
