Jim's Story

Life It's been a helluva trip so far. Some good ~ some bad. School During my years at MVCDS H. Dutton Foster had a real impact on me. He taught English and drama; encouraged creativity. English instructor Barry Goff was an influence at Avon Old Farms during a very difficult time in my life. He introduced me to Dylan Thomas' "Under Milkwood." College Was on the staffs of WECB and WERS-FM while attending Emerson College in Boston. Jay Leno (the ORIGINAL pronunciation was LEE-no) worked at the stations with me. He lived in my dorm on Beacon Street, as well. Many Friday nights Jay would get a bunch of us together in the lobby and do some silly routines. He was awful at the time but...Expand for more
a hell of a nice guy. There's been plastic surgery performed on that protruding jaw. You should have seen him in the late 60s! I remember his first TV appearance; a cameo on the sitcom "Welcome Back, Kotter" around 1974. My communications class visited WRKO/Boston one day. Waiting in the lobby I got talking with a kind of awkward, skinny, black guy. I thought I was impressing him with my media knowledge and advice. He seemed so receptive to the stuff I was saying. Later, I learned he was waiting to be interviewed at the station ~ and that his name was Richard Pryor! Workplace I've worked so many jobs it would make your head spin. Military I never served but support our troops 110%
