Jim's Story
Those were the good old days time passes so fast turning 60 in a couple of days, although I didn't get to graduate from Wabbaseka I still miss my old friends from Willie K Hocker. Been trying to find some of you but not having much luck. I do have a photo of the band along with Mr. Worthen taken inside the old Warriors gym that's attached. Been retired for about a year and a half now after 38 + years working at the Arkansas Dept. of Correction, married to beautiful Texas gal and living it up in Oklahoma at least for now. Hope to see more of you all on here with pictures. I still remember my first day at school Ms. Archabald's class, I didn't make it through the day told her I was sick and had my dad pick me up. I visited the old school years ago before it was torn down and after the fire, I did get into the hallway and the back door of the gym I remember it looked so sm...Expand for more
all and I don't see how I ever sat in one of those desk, they looked so little. I hated to see the trophy's in the front windows of the old gym going to waste, wished they could have been given to some of the people that had earned them. The oak tree in front of the school was huge I still remember the day it was planted I believe it was 4th grade Ms. Daughtry's class. I have been in touch with Waco Davis in Texas, his voice still sounds the same to me. I have only made it to one reunion and I think it was the first, close to Pine Bluff. I was given a list of everyone from Eddie Robinson but lost it over the years. I did get to talk to Karen Lynch's mom on one of my trips to go by the school years ago, it was good to see her, I remember the parties there, nice people. I've rambled enough hope all of you are doing well. Post some pic's it would be good to see all of you.
