Jim's Story
Life
Basically I could be classified as a primitive Aquarian. My interests are varied and diverse. I have been accused of having a demented sense of humor and I tend to look at the world from a slightly skewed angle. I am initially shy and reserved in social settings; then quickly become relaxed and talkative
Hobbies/Interests: cooking, really bad movies, -music, playing drums, photography, sports, theater, travel, weight lifting, writing, backpacking, sailing. I have been known to plan, cook, and throw 3-day parties for friends and co-workers. Musical tastes tend to lean towards a percussive beat- (imagine that-a drummer who likes percussion). I have been known to prove the theory that white people canÂt dance. I have written a world music column for a local newspaper, and have done photography work for some models and actresses.
My secret vice is I like to watch pro wrestling. Hey, everyone has a skeleton in his or her closet; right?
Work: 30 years in the health care industry both as a paramedic and as a nurse. Currently I am a nurse. In the past I have been a fitness trainer. I am currently taking a perform...Expand for more
ance nutrition specialist course that will certify me as a specialist in performance nutrition. In addition, I have gone to massage school. I have taken gourmet chef courses, and I am currently opening a coffee bar and dance hall here in the Las Vegas NM area. I have a house in Cancun Mexico and the goal is to retire there ASAP.
School
My main achievement in High School was that I was "buried" by my Freshman English class for missing school.
Workplace
I have been involved in health care since I was a junior in high school, damn has it been 38+ years already? I have worked as a paramedic and as a nurse and have done everything I have ever wanted to do in the healthcare industry, including International Air Ambulance, and have worked as a consultant in EMS.
Currently in League City, Texas working as a home health nurse, something I didn't think I would like but actually love it.
I am also involved with a charity that takes school and medical supplies to Belize and other Latin American countries. Just bought a 40 passenger bus that we will be driving to Belize in June and donating it to a school down there.
