Jim's Story
Left Mt. Diablo in Feb 1974 and enlisted in the US Marine Corps. Stayed in until 1978 and then went to work in the aerospace industry in Southern California. Parker-Hannifin, Lockheed, General Electric, Northrop and Martin Marietta.
In 1984 went to work on the Space Shuttle launch pad at Vandenberg AFB working for Martin Marietta as a "pad rat".

he challenger explosion happened in '86 I left the space biz and never went back. Had my first child 1 month to the day after the explosion. She now is married and has 3 children. Have a son who was born in late 1987.
I was lucky. I got to do a lot of great things since then. Many don't believe it, sometimes I don't believe it. But I did and I know it.
