Jim's Story
Greetings all. Hope everything is well with you. I am well and living in sunny FL. I moved here after graduating from Case Western in Cleveland in 1994. I am married to Julie Hauter -- DeVilbiss c/o '87 -- and we have two kids Emma and Katie. We love Florida and have been here for 19 years now!!!. We live on a lake in Florida and waste our days away boating, fishing and hangin' by the pool drinking adult beverages. I own a (very) small business, Heidelberg Capital Corp, a mortgage brokerage corporation and it keeps me as busy as I want to be. Julie is busy as well with her tiny public relations firm, Heidelberg PR. We travel a lot, and last summer did a month long Europe tour that included England, France, Italy, Switzerland and Germany. We still make it back to Toledo about four times a year. I am always surprised that I never run into people I know when we are in town. I still drive by DeVilbiss every time we are home since Julie's mother still lives a few blocks away -- crazy all the construction / renovations on it.
Sports are big in our family life. We have tickets to the Tampa Bay Lightning (NHL Hockey), the Buccaneers (NFL) and University of South Florida Football (NCAA Div 1) -- go BO...Expand for more
LTS, go BUCS, go BULLS! Since moving to Florida, I have had the privilege of seeing in person the Bucs win the Superbowl, and seeing the Lightning win the Stanley Cup in Game 7 at home (crappy seats but I was there). Personally I am big into beach volleyball and play in leagues twice a week.
Before starting Heidelberg Capital, I worked for Andersen Consulting (now Accenture) for 10 years. It was a crazy gig. I lived in cities all over the country helping big companies make more money. My clients were companies you all know of... Best Buy, JCPenny, Comp USA, eBay, Toys R US, Office Depot, Anheuser Busch, blah blah blah. Consulting was a great ride, but I was never home and eventually I choose family over it and walked away.
As far as keeping in touch with folks, I pretty much fell off the map. About the only DeVilbiss people I have seen in the last few years include Eric Hauter (Julie's bro), Jeff Yeager, my bro Scott, Patty Travis once or twice, and that is about it -- which I consider pitiful.
On a downside, my dad passed away unexpectedly in Jan '13 which is a bummer.
Anyway, as I said, hope life is good for you. If we ever have an 80s reunion maybe I will se you there.
Best regards,
Jim.
