Jim's Story

Life I'm teaching special education and coaching football, wrestling, track, and weight lifting at Newcomb High School in Newcomb, NM. It's on the Navajo Indian Reservation in northwest New Mexico. I've been divorced for about three and half years (after 20 years of marriage) I have three truly remarkable kids. Jamie is 19 and just finished her freshman year of college at Northwetern Oklahoma State University in Alva, OK. Jordan and Joy are my, soon to be 16, boy/girl twins. They'll be entering the 10th grade this fall and live with their mom in Buffalo, OK. I stay very busy teaching and coaching plus I'm a student again...working on my Masters in special ed. College College taught me...Expand for more
a lot of things besides accounting. I learned what it was like to be a minority and felt true prejudice for the first time as one of the few white people at a predominantly hispanic institution. Other than that the exerience was great...I partied some and still managed to graduate magna cum laude with a BA in accounting...had a great relationship with most of my business profs and planned to stay and get an MBA but Mountain Bell in Denver offered me too much money and I left with 12 graduate hours under my belt but never finished up on that MBA. I'm now back in school...started this last spring...working on my Masters in special education. Man it is tough gettin back in the student mode!!!
