Jim's Story

Graduated in 1961. Enlisted in the Navy in 1962. Worked my way up through the ranks, receiving an in-service commission, and retired as a Lieutenant Commander after 32 years. Diego, CA, Dec 1964; have three grown sons, who are all married and have their own families, and all living in San Jose, CA. We have a home in Albany, OR. Currently serving with Mobile Missionary Assistance Program (MMAP) working on projects involving Christian churches, camps, missions, orphanages and similar ministries.

The photo being held by our tour guide is of the Pioneer Cabin Tree before it fell on January 8, 2017. That is the tree in the background.
This is the stump of the Discovery Tree. The first casualty in the rush to exploit the giant sequoias. It took five men 22 days to cut it down!
One of the ladies here at Silver Spur Christian Camp made this hat for Simon!! We love it!! Simon not so much!
Got the SwivelWheel trailer! Can't wait to get our 5th wheel back so I can get the double receiver hitch installed. Will be able to take the motorcycle with us! Woot!!!
