Jim's Story
After graduation in 1970 I attended Glassboro College for a year, then got a job in Philly. I In 1973 I moved to Los Angeles, California with a friend of mine and his wife and 2 sons (my godson). None of my family and friends could believe I would move all the way across country, but I did. one year after I moved, Tim Downes moved there also, and a year later Chet Dumanski also moved there. (both from Magnolia and Sterling High Class of '70)
I worked for Price Waterhouse, the accounting firm that counted the Oscars and Emmies. Got to meet Ann Margaret, Lorne Green,Telly Savalas and Lloyd Bridges.
Then went to work for Hughes Aircraft Company in 1976. Met my wife Elise on a blind date through her uncle Vito who worked for me at the time. We were married in October 1981. Elise & I have a daughter Nancy-Marie, born in 1985.

fer to Tucson, AZ in 1989 and have lived there ever since. Retired early in 2008 and volunteered with Operation Christmas Child, a ministry of Samaritan's Purse run by Franklin Graham. We pack empty shoeboxes with gifts, toys, clothing, etc and send them around the world to 130 different countries. OCC has started in 1993 with 2500 shoeboxes delivered to Bosnia during the war to a remarkable total of 100 million total in 2012! In 2013 we collected over 10.1 million shoeboxes.
In 2009 I was blessed to be able to go on a shoebox distribution trip to the Dominican Republic and actually see the amazing faces of the children as they opened their shoeboxes, it is an experience I will never forget.
Enjoying retirement and have taken some time off from OCC. Planning on doing some travelling to some other states I have not yet visited and a trip to Italy.
