Jim's Story

Life I've been in the newspaper business for 30 years starting as an editor at a weekly paper in Kapuskasing and working as the editor-in-chief at newspapers in Oshawa, Niagara Falls, St. John's, Nfld., and Charlottetown PEI. I left there in 1998 to work at the start-up of the National Post, leaving the Post two years later to become ...Expand for more
an assistant news editor at the Globe and Mail. It's been very interesting, although I seldom have the same address for more than two years at a time. My second wife and I live in Toronto with our dog and two cats. I have a 22-year-old daughter living in Charlottetown and a 19-year-old son trying to figure out what to do with his life.

The real Good King Wenceslas, aka Vaclav, was the 10th century Duke of Bohemia. It was a warm August day this summer when we took this picture in Wenceslas Square in Prague. The snow did not lay roundabout on this day.
