Jim's Story
Life
I retired from teaching June 2009 and retired from working for the teachers' union in Lake County, Illinois in 2019. I have thoroughly enjoyed waking up without an alarm clock and having the time to leisurely drink a couple mugs of coffee before I start the days activities. With my "free" time, I've been able to once again become a regular at the health club and, beside toning and strengthening up, I've even been able to lose a few pounds! I also enjoy getting together with friends, both new and old, including a few I first met at Forest View.

es. Our daughter graduated as a biology major from Augustana College, and then went on to earn her doctorate in Physical Therapy. In 2019, we gained our son-in-law, Ben, a special education teacher in a nearby district. We currently have a ten year old mixed breed: golden retriever/Brittany spaniel. She loves going for multiple walks each day as well as conniving ways to get treats out of us.
We still live in unincorporated Lake County between Gurnee, Libertyville, and Grayslake. I enjoy tending my yard and gardens as well as admiring the trees I planted over three decades ago. They get big as I get old!
