Jim's Story
Life
After graduation from high school in 1967, I married Barbara in 1970 while we were students at East Tennessee State University. Barb is a teacher in Alpharetta, Georgia. I graduated from East Tennessee State University in 1971. I received a commission in the US Army as a Second Lieutenant and served 3 years as a paratrooper with the 82nd Airborne Division - discharged with the rank of Captain. I owned and managed 3 sporting goods stores before selling them in 1982. I went to work with the federal goverment as an IRS Agent and later transferred to the National Credit Union Administration. errorist financing. I have lived in Atlanta since 1989 and planned on retiring in May of 2009 but I'm still working for some reason. I have one son, Chris, who is a graduate of the University of Georgia and is married to Amy, a graduate of Florida State. I also have a grandson named Brayden who was was born June 1, 2009. I spent 10 years coaching football and baseball, finally winning 2 championships in football. Most of my free time is now spent with a military honor guard. We perform military funerals for deceased veterans who faithfully served our country. I also run quite a bit competing mostly in 10K races in the Atlanta area.
