Jim's Story

Just Retired on March 27, 2020 after 31 years with Sac County Sheriff!!! Loved working the streets in Rio Linda, North Highlands, Arden-Arcade, Foothill Farms, Fair Oaks, Carmichael, Orangevale and South Sac with dome great people. Looking forward to new book for my life and hope to not flip my GOLF cart Life I guess I can say life has been pretty good to me. Have six great kids and better yet all but one have moved away. One eleven year old granddaughter and three grandsons all born between July 2006 and September 2007. Finally went back to patrolling the streets of beautiful North Highlands and Rio Linda on got dayshift, working graves kicked my butt. Hopefully will catch a few rides on the Harley this summer and take some time to relax. I was truly in awe at our 25 year reunion. I was happy to see certain friends that I started kindergarten and graduated with on the same day. But that also made me think of all those that did not share that blessing. I was pleased to see old neighbors and wondered where some were and hoped that life had treated them well. I found it funny that ceratin people sent me emails and asked why I did not seek out more of a relationship than offered. Only to tell them i...Expand for more
t was a bet, in truth, I was too stupid to know they were interested and thought they were out of my social league. Funny how we put labels on ourselves. I guess as I get older I ponder were would I be now if we had done things different so many years ago? I always preach to my kids the value of an education and tel them "you don't want to end up like me". In reality I have done pretty well. I have good family, friends, and neighbors. ••Learned alot about myself the last year, be grateful and love life the minute you wake each day and always plan for tomorrow. Looking forward to retirement. November 25, 2019. Just looked over the Grant Union High School District website and sad see few more extraordinary people Sherry and Terry no linger with us. They were both great and kind people and hopefully got the most from life. Wife and I just purchased a small house in Stella, NC at White Oak Shores RV Park. Nice and small and golf cart community. Hey Robert thanks for reaching out to my wife snd not telling her about almost crashing listening to Hagar (saw Sammy play at Thunder Valley last month, Glen keep building cars, I finally getting there.
