Jim's Story

Life Playing guitar with my son or by myself. Riding my motorcycle. Being glad I don't go to school. 200 + semester hours.... A.S. B.A. M.S. Ed.S. becoming literate was a long strange trip. Now that I am not sure I spelled it rite. Being young was difficult I like being the age I am and who I am now. Any old friends out there I wouldn't mind hearing from someone with something pleasant to say.... Life a few years later.... My mom died this past August. Being next in the family line with Mom and Dad gone is a bit strange. I can remember thinking as a teen I will be 48 in the year 2000 and it seemed to be a long way away. Now being 58 in 2010 the future seems bright but full of unknowns. My seventeen year old boy is full of testosterone and himself. He reminds me of myself at that age but thank god he is a lot smarter than I was. Life is good. I like my job, my house and my girlfriend of 14 years... Hello to any of my friends that might read this. Drop me an email at james no space thornber at. Hot mail Another year later... still struggling with my siblings over my mom's estate. Have a boss with cancer and an old old friend dying of cancer. My health is ok nothing that will kill me. Going to Amelia Island for a weekend with my fiance to meet up with some college friends from 24 years ago. It will be interesting to see how time has treated all of us. I still am playing guitar ... trying to decide whether I want a Harley Dav...Expand for more
idson or a BMW Z4 sports car so I guess life is still pretty good. Tried to catch up with David Pomeroy a few weekends ago but he is working the rigs still. My son graduated from High School Magna Cum Laude with a 4.42 gpa and was a national merit finalist. He is off to Auburn University to study engineering in August. Very very cool an empty nest at last though I will miss him but not his attitudes. Hello to any of my friends that might read this. Drop me an email at james no space thornber at. Hot mail Just had my 60th birthday and celebrated by marrying the love of my life... Kathleen Douglas. We have been together for 15 years and she helped me raise my son. Got married on the beach in Destin at sunset September 6 on my 60th birthday. An anniversary I will never ever forget to a great lady!! More in a later update.... June 30, 2013. Life with my wife is great. I've had a broken foot since Febuary. Struggle getting around. Feels real strange using my handicapped hang tag. Still playing and collecting guitars. Love my BMW and seeing old friends. Recently saw my old friend Willi passing through with his lovely wife Carrie on there way back to Vancouver. Didn't get a chance to catch a blues band in a bar with my old friend maybe next time.... Any old friends out there you can still contact me at james thornber at hot mail dot com.... All one word lower case if you can figure that one out. Love to here from someone!
