Jim's Story

Left high school in early 1977, a few months short of actual graduation. Went to Pensacola Florida following boot camp in Great Lakes. After graduating CTR "A" school, I arrived in "The Land of the Rising Sun". Some Deep Purple songs come to mind. Great time there skiing, baseball, seeing the sights and interacting with the local population. Went to Homestead Fl in 1981 through 1983, got married and had my first daughter there. Moved to Anchorage Alaska in 1983-1987. Great friends and great hunting and fishing. Had a memorable trip up the Taylor Highway in late January 1986 with my good friend Dan Whorton. o Pensacola from 1987-1991. My second daughter was born there. Had a good time as a Navy Instructor and Company Commander. Went off to San Diego and then Pearl Harbor Hawaii. Made Chief while serving on board the USS CUSHING (DD-985). South America was interesting. 1994-1997 back to Japan. Great time playing baseball and hunting. In 1997-2000 I finished up my Naval career at NSGA Whidbey Island, Washington. Lived in Bellingham until last month, and just moved to Ferndale. Having fun, staying busy, and always getting ready for the next hunting season. If you've dropped in, take care and hope to see you soon.
