Jim's Story

Mu story begins at Cambridge High & Latin were upon graduating I became a Buyer & Expediter for IB Moore Company which gave me the opportunity to travel throughout the country at 18 years old delivering parts & subassemblies for companies and the navy at Groton Ct. I worked the New York Worlds Fair in New York and stayed in New York for 4 months. All this changed when I received notice that I was being drafted in January of 1966 where I became an Investigator For the Inspector General, traveling To Germany, Scotland & 2 times to Vietnam, I returned and took the Police Officer exam, and being a disabled Veteran was offered multiple positions, excepting a position as a Arlington Police Officer, began my college education at Northeastern University, Married my than and still best friend Jackie, was astounded by the birth of my Daughter Christine, Life was good! It all changed August 9, 1975 when I was in a automobile accident with another Police Officer. I broke both legs in multiple places, broke my hip and was in 2 hospitals for 5 1/2 months, most of which in traction. I took 12 operations over 4 years with physical therapy 5 days a week 52 weeks a year to learn to walk again, but I did. I retired from the Police Department, and moved to Florida, as the weather (Blizzard of 1978) made up our minds to move South to Florida. We did and never regr...Expand for more
etted the decision. My wife and I became Realtors and worked together for 35 years. Approximately a year ago, I decided That it was time to retire, as the Real Estate market was still recovering, and I was tired of giving bad news to good people and friends about the market, so I retired for about a month where I was approached by a couple of local law firms that were familiar with my law enforcement background and offered me the opportunity to Investigate a person who they believed embezzled money from their clients. I performed a forensic accounting investigation, found the individual stole over a million dollars, presented the evidence to the state economic .crimes unit who after presented the evidence to the grand jury. where the individual was indicted on 68 counts of stealing money. I am back being retired, loving it, refinishing old and/abused furniture, doing handyman jobs for our neighborhood and home, and generally enjoying life in Florida. My wife and I have traveled extensively throughout Europe, most of all the Caribbean Islands, and have just returned from our 2nd trip to Australia, after traveling throughout the South Pacific! I have had the privilege of visiting over 80 countries throughout the world, and believe me NOPLACE is better than the good old US! Life is and has been very good!!!! Stay Happy and Be Happy ALWAYS!!! ,
