Jim's Story

Life I married Sue Tomsky six years ago and we have a son 4 and a daughter 1. We moved to Dallas for a promotion I received as a manager of a securities firm with about 50 brokers which I managed for a few years. I then worked for Fidelity Investments for the 7 years, as a Vice President for the Institutional Brokerage Group covering the south central US, occasionally traveling coast to coast. I had an interest in alternative investments and so accepted a position with a hedge fund-of-funds product shop in TX as National Director of Advisor Sales. For several years I had pursued investments in oil and gas and was asked to accept a position as a partner in an oil and gas venture capital firm ...Expand for more
based on out of TX. I'm now a partner in three oil and gas companies we've created as well as partner in the parent company that banks energy deals. Sue and I recently built a home in Austin as we are big fans of the music, lakes and overall community focus on outdoor and civic activities and of course Lake Austin which we live on. I still get outdoors for biking or skiing as often as possible and have a much better cardio than I did in highschool. Sue's was in marketing at Verizon as a Mktg Channel Manager but recently picked up her Yoga instructor certification and has decided to retire from the corporate world as of last year and spends most of her time focusing on the kids and Yoga.
