Jim's Story
After high school, I went to SB Valley College for 2 years, Fresno State College for one semester, finished my BS in Marketing degree at San Diego State.
After graduation, Sears hired me as a manager in training. (same work as a manager-lower pay) 5 months after starting my career with Sears, The Army drafted me and I went off to Washington DC for a year (served in the Old Guard) and Vietnam for one year.
Came back to San Bernardino and worked at Levitz furniture as a buyer, then went on the road as a furniture's Manufacture's Rep.. Nine years later, I got into banking with Great Western Savings and Loan. Eight years later, left banking for a residential real estate career in San Diego. Around 1995 I left real estate for a "...Expand for more
real job" in telecomunications. I worked Sprint then AT&T a total of 9 years.
I retired at 61 and have been enjoying travel and sailing and keep busy with volunteer ushering at many theatres here in the San Diego area. I do like bike riding at the beach and I joined 24 Hour Fitness Centers a few years back to help stay in shape.
I never married. I came out of the closet when I was 25 years old and currently enjoy a 12 year long relationship with my lover. I feel lucky in life and have made many friends over the years. I have few regrets.
My home in San Diego keeps me busy with landscape and remodels I am starting a kitchen/ dining room remodel and soon I will be broke!
Hope to see everyone at the reunion in May.
