Jim's Story
After graduation I worked for a couple of years before joining the air force.
After basic training I was sent to Goodfellow AFB in San Angelo, TX., for my technical training in communications. I then was sent to Mcguire AFB in New Jersey where I spent a year working in a communications center.
I was transferred to RAF Mildenhall in Suffolk, England, in 1979. It was here I met my wife, Julie (yep, she's a Brit). We dated a year before I worked up the courage to ask her to marry me.. She said, "Yes"! The 3 years in England were the best years of my military career.
After 3 years in England we were transferred to Wichita Falls, TX., where I spent 4 years as a instructor in telecommunications. Our first son, James, was born in San Antonio while I was at Lackland AFB, in 1987.
I left the air force in 1988 and started teaching at Texas Institute in Dallas, TX as a instructor in data entry and typing. Matthew was born in 1989.
We moved to Waxahachie, TX., when I started working for Raco Interior ...Expand for more
Products. I am a Human Resources and Purchasing manager. Julie teaches third grade at a elementary school.
Life has been good to me and God has blessed us mightily. I thank Him for giving me a wonderful, loving wife and two sons.
James has surrendered his life to become a baptist minister and is attending Crown Christian college in Ft. Worth.
Matt is attending Navarro Junior college here and is working on a business degree.
We are helping to start a new church here called Lighthouse Baptist Church.
It is exciting to be in on the ground floor starting a new church!
Between my job and working at the church we have very little time for much else; but I wouldn't have it any other way.
"And if it seem evil unto you to serve the LORD, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD."
Joshua 24:15 (King James Version)
