I moved to Chicago in 1979 to start a career with McDonald's PR firm. After a few years, I switched back to advertising. I worked for some of the biggest agencies in the world, and eventually co-owned a mid-sized integrated communications firm. Nearly nine years of that convinced me being an employer with lots of employees did not suit me. Since 1995 I've owned a brand strategy consulting company called In's & Out's, LLC. I consult as a sole practitioner, or in tandem with other consultants such as organizational development specialists, and through a network of freelance and subcontract workers. Brand strategy is the stuff that preceeds marketing. I do a lot of work with universities, nonprofits, individual business owners, and some global companies. My client mix is very diverse.
