Jim's Story

Jim Piatt, Class of ¿59 Here¿s some of what I¿ve been up to during that time: Went to college then shipyard, married Marcy and we had 2 children. Moved up to planning and design then left for real estate business. Started successful real estate company, did commercial development work, owned a couple of airplanes, raced dirt bikes, won Top Truck in USA with my Jeep, traveled on photo-journalist gigs for magazines. We also traveled through Europe a few times, once attending the Barcelona Olympics. Retired to move closer to kids and grandkids in West Sacramento CA, built home on 1/2 acre, then sold adjacent 1/2 ac to daughter Debbie who lives there with husband and 2 grandchildren. Son Jim lives about 40 minutes away as well. Started small manufacturing company and make and sell auto accessories world-wide that I invented. Kinda fun profitable EZ to run business which gives an excuse to travel to 4 wheeling events in...Expand for more
the motorhome. Still occasionally race dirt bikes in cross-country and enduro events in (age group) over 60 classes as an A-level rider. Consult on commercial real estate matters and help with daughter's real estate business (and she helps me!), take grandkids fishing, motorcycling, four wheeling and camping plus all the other grandkid things most know and love so well. It¿s neat to just have them drop over from next door and share our lives together. We still love to travel; however like it here in Sac so much we just do more stuff around here now. Well, we recently did a fun Alaskan Cruise after a week on the beach at Long Beach WA with about 20 good old friends. Then a Yuma trip in the motorhome where we got to see many more of our Bremerton and Silverdale friends. Marcy and I get ¿grandchild withdrawal¿ when we do that. Marcy and I are in our 48th year of marriage and still reasonably healthy, thank God!!
