Jim's Story
Life
I went to MU and UMKC for a semester each, then dropped out and joined the U.S. Marine Corps. I spent a little under two years on active duty at Camp Pendleton, then headed back to Mizzou on a Naval ROTC scholarship in 1987. After two years in the ROTC program, I left to go back on active duty in the Marine Corps in January of 1990. Desert Shield, Desert Storm, and Desert Cleanup. After leaving the Marine Corps in the fall of 1991, I moved to Columbia, where I eventually fell into a job doing technical support for a software company called Datastorm. When Datastorm was purchased by Quarterdeck, I bailed and moved to KC. I'm now doing support for a software company called GeoAccess, and slowly restoring a 101 year old house in Kansas City's Old Northeast area.
