George (Jim)'s Story
After graduating from Oly I wasted some time at Western WSU (where I met some wonderful people) before moving to the UW.
After graduating from the University of Washington where I majored in Wasting Time, I traipsed around the US until I got roped into living in Wisconsin (where I met some more wonderful people). I worked a few jobs outside of my major until 1978 when I moved briefly back to Seattle before continuing West.
I got a job in Japan for a year; then graduate school in English in Virginia (more wonderfu...Expand for more
l people), then back to Japan for awhile. Then some time in Seattle and Los Angeles (working within my major!).
Finally in 1989, I took a full-time professor's gig in Japan and have since become a landed immigrant, a father, a husband, and a homeowner (not in that order).
Now, besides 60s rock, I'm interested in opera (Wagner's Ring Cycle). bookbinding, walking long distances, podcasting, web design, and audio dramas.
When I'm not seriously plugged into my iPod, I think about all the wonderful people I've met.
