Jimmie's Story
Life
I spent 20 years in the Navy and retired from the Service. Spent many great years on the USS Constellation, USS Oriskany, USS Nimitz, USS Forrestal, and Saipan (LHA2). After retiring, I moved to Vermont for six yrs and built a home on 11 acres but sold and moved to Virginia (It was cold!! up there)... I have now moved to Pensacola Florida (even warmer!!).. I may have retired but my traveling days are not finished yet..
School
After leaving school I joined the Navy and got to visit many places. I retired from the Navy and must admit I enjoy being lazy now. I walk my two Dogs on a 2 1/2 mile trek around the neighborhood each day, followed by watching TV and snoozing in the afternoon. I have summer time hobbies which I enjoy but nothing for the winter months. But then, the winter months are short in Florida, so I consider it a extended winter vacation from un-said hobbies.. I'm thinking of starting a new hobby of hill climbing, mountain ...Expand for more
climbing is out of the question as I'm to darn old and lazy for such feats of masculinity..... I'd go fishing but the last hurricane took out my favorite fishing bridge ( oh so sad )..... Good grief, I'm feeling another snooze coming on, so, you-all take care and write me a note sometime..
Military
I spent ten yrs in Calif. and made 4 West Pac's. The next 10 yrs I was stationed in Virginia, and made 5 med cruises. My first ten yrs in Calif. were great!!, but Virginia and Med. Cruises were all work and little play. I wish I had stayed on the West Coast (much more fun there). I was stationed at VF-92, VF-194, VF-84, VF-31. Ships company on USS Constellation and USS Saipan. Shore duty at NAS North Island and NAS Oceana. I retired from the Navy in 1993 and have not had to work since that time (knock-on-wood). During my 20 yrs of Service I have worked with many wonderful people and Seen a lot of this World, and I am glad and proud to be an American..
