Jimmy's Story
After I graduated from Clear Lake High, I went to UT Austin and got my BBA in Accounting & CPA license. I worked for 8 years at a national accounting firm (Coopers & Lybrand). I left there as a manager to go to law school at the University of Texas at Austin. I graduated from law school in 1990. I went to work for a large law firm in Austin, Texas and also taught tax & litigation courses at the University of Texas School of Law. I'm a trial lawyer in Austin, Texas with the firm Martens, Todd & Leonard. I and my law partners specialize in tax litigation. I'm scheduled to argue a case before the Texas Supreme Court on October 15, 2012. The case is called Combs v. Roark. The Texas solicitor general is arguing the case for the Comptroller. The Texas Supreme Court will video the argument live and you can view it through the Texas Supreme Court's website.
I have homes in Austin, on the Guadalupe River and in Rockport. I like to spend my time fishing at the coast, kayaking the Guadalupe River or playing with my dogs.
I have three kids by prior marriages. My daughter Jessica is a CPA. My son Gordon is in his frist year of law school at UH. My daughter is a softmore at USC.
