Life My high school years, thus far, have been the happiest years in my life. I always knew I was going to become a teacher. I've regretted that decision at times, but overall, it has been very rewarding. I've spent most of my career at Groves. During the 1990s I taught grades 6 and 7 at Hubert Middle School and Mercer Middle School, before returning to Groves in 1999. I hope to retire from Groves in about five years. In May 1995, I was the recipient of a kidney transplant. My life improved in that I was no longer bound to a dialysis machine, but the anti-rejection drugs are steroids and-yikes!-I have gained a considerable amount of weight. Overall, though, my quality of life certainly has improved thanks to someone in Sarasota, FL, who chose to be an organ donor.
