Jimmy's Story
Life
A lot has happened in the last 30 years. After graduating from SHS, I spent two years pursuing a music degree, first at Dekalb Jr. College, then at Baylor University in Waco, TX. Becoming disillusioned with prospects of success in the music industry and somewhat distracted by the "drop out and turn on" culture of the mid-70s, I took my turn and spent time finding myself. When I did, I went back to school, met my wife, got married, and finally graduated with honors from the cooperative program at Ga. Tech in 1984. After college we moved to the mid-Hudson valley in NY, then back to Raleigh, NC...Expand for more
in 1988. It was there that our two sons were born, Caleb in 1989 (ask Susan to tell you about the trip to the hospital) and Austin in 1993. In 1997 we moved back to NE Cobb County. We are active in church and community activities such as Boy Scouts and baseball. God has richly blessed our lives! I sing at church and still play trombone occasionally for special events, although it takes a few weeks to get my lip back in shape! In Raleigh I played regularly with a big band jazz group and sang in a barbershop quartet, both professional groups, but now I invest most of my time in my boy's interests.
