Jimmy's Story

After graduation I went into the Marine Corps. After two months in Hawaii, I was sent back to the states for UDT school at Coronado, Calif. This school name was changed to Seal School after I left. I was only there a few days before returning to Hawaii. As a member of ANGLICO, I had to either go to Jump School or UDT school. That was my choice, but most of my training came later with the Sixth Fleet in the Atlantic. In Vietnam I called in artillery, naval gunfire, tanks, aircraft and any other support we could get at the time. I was wounded and spent several months in the Naval Hospital. After my service I returned to Safeway, married my first wife in 1968 and had two beautiful girls. Now all three are grown and gone. In 1969 I started wor...Expand for more
king at the IBM card plant in Sherman cleaning restrooms, but was quickly working on the machine floor. In 1973 I was transfered to the IBM Development Lab and began designing and building prototype computers long before they were anounced. My wife and I deviorced in 1993. My last job in the lab was to aquire and test advanced computer systems to determine if/how they would work in the products under development. I am now retired, have married again in July 2007, love my wife very much, and have a great, although tempermental, dog. I think he needs to see a shrink. Often. I have just completed my second book but it is not ready to go to the publisher yet. I haven't read it, and don't think that it is the next great novel, but it is mine.
