Elizabeth's Story
After high school I went straight to college, graduated, started teaching and got married-- we had two daughters.
Then life got interesting... I went to graduate school, got rid of the husband, kept the daughters and joined the Army! Along in here somewhere I quit using "Betty Sue," everyone in the Army called me Elizabeth anyway or Ma'am. So it was one war or conflict after another and the joke at home became, "Join the Army see the world."
I met Roger Youngberg at church playing Walley Ball. He has two boys to go with my two girls so we got married and I went to Somalia. Then moved the kids to Germany and I went to Bosnia leaving Roger with 4 teens and 6 month old William! Eventually we came home from Germany and and got a couple of the kids send away to college before was off for a year in Korea all of 2000. Then it as off to Ft Campbell to Ft Hood to Ft Sam Houston and we are done! We had bought a house in 1993(now it is 2004) in Arizona so we headed home to remodel our house and Roger has a great job working as a gov contractor at Ft Huachuca. tudio and got busy building a business.
Until January 2009 Roger's company moved us to Ft Rucker, Alabama. William is now 13 and the only child still at home so we have opened our home and have two foster children that we hope to keep, Hermes and Jhaudiel. With three boys we run between Scouts, football, basketball, band and the beach! Life is good! Whoever thought we'd be 50+ and I never thought it would be in Alabama.
Updating, in 2010 I started a doctoral program and we moved back to Arizona to help care for my now elderly parents. The older kids are grown and gone with children of their own. My husband Roger is now retired and working as a high school math teacher for fun. Our youngest William is playing football at the local community college and eating us out of house and home. Sunday night October 25, 2015 I met with my Dissertation Committee for my final Dissertation Defense, doctorate complete YAHOO!!!! As soon as William gets picked up to play football at some division 1 college we are abandoning my parents and heading to Lubbock, TX to be closer to our grandchildren.
