Jo-Ann's Story
About every 10 or 12 years or so, I re-invent myself.
I graduated from Pomona College in December 1969 (technically January of 1970). I bounced around for a few years teaching, appraising, before settling into a 20-year career in information systems. In 1979 I moved to the Pacific Northwest.
My first mid-life crisis hit about 1987. I moved to Hawaii where I stayed until II entered law school in 1993 and emerged in 1996. I passed the California Bar in 1996 and the Hawaii Bar in 1997.
I decided to return to California and go to Santa Clara University School of Law. I'm really glad I did. I got a great education and made some wonderful friends. I also got to be near my family at the time when my nephews began having children.

r (1994). She joined me in San Jose and put up with me through 1/2 of law school, 2 bar exams, the starting of my law practice, the moving of my law practice .... She's a saint.
It feels like it's time to re-invent again, but the path yet is not clear.
I have become extremely involved in local politics here. I started out as a founding member of the GLBT Caucus of the Democratic Party. Then I started lobbying the legislature. Most recently I have become very involved in local campaigns.
Perhaps that will be the next chapter in my life. Perhaps not. All I can tell at this point is that it feels like I am coming upon a crossroads.
Haven't heard anything about a 45th reunion. For sure, I will attend a 50th.
Who would ever believe in 1966 that we would live that long?
