Joan's Story

Hi there it's me Joan Boarman Milstead.(Joanie) I live in LaPlata and I have a great family that I don't know what I would do without. I married David Milstead from Lackey. Dave is a Building Engineer in DC. He has four buildings he runs there and one in Columbia. He was inducted into the black belt hall of fame last year. We have two beautiful boys Brad born 1998 and Troy born 2000.Brad is a drummer and Troy plays the piano. We love to go boating on the river and this year (2009) we started camping. I love it! The boys keep us on our toes with all the things that they like to do.I prayed for boys because I keep up with them with all the boy sports that they do.Basketball and 4 wheeling are my favorites. an help. I also started small a commercial cleaning business in 2004. I have a few local buildings that I take care of and it's a great way for my boys to earn money and learn responsibility. I keep it small so I can have family time. I hope that one day we can move to Newburg on the water.We want to stay local. Maybe some old fixer upper who knows. I've had many wonderful and exciting and bad things happen in my life and I thank God for each and every one of them. I've learned so much along the way of this life here on earth.Things dont always stay good or bad. Also I've learn to forgive because God forgives us right? God is great and if you arent close to him you are missing a wonderful thing. I tell my kids that the best days you live are the ones you spend loving other people.
