Joan's Story
LIFE
6/29/14. Life goes on, not always the way we would like but then again there are the good days. I'm still working four days a week, the fifth day and evenings I take care of my granddaughters while Justin is working. However, at 10 &12 they are pretty self sufficient & help me a lot. Ken works from home so the girls are with him 3 days a week. Our little village keeps very busy, the girls play volleyball spring and fall, Sydney has practice all summer & tournaments all summer. In between we will squeeze in a trip up to Grand Lake, my favorite place in the world where I can totally relax & love life. We have decided to make a family vacation out of the trip to Tucson for my reunion so the girls can see where we came from. We will also take them to the Grand Canyon on the trip home, they are very excited. As you can tell our lives revolve around the girls, I am so blessed to have them live so close and able to spend so much time with them and my son. So other than a few bumps, we are doing good. Anxious to see you all at the reunion, until then be well and love life.
1/25/2009 Another year gone by and life keeps chugging along. This year was good and I am counting all my many blessings. I have a wonderful family and we are all under one roof. If you would have told me this is the way my life would go and I would have laughed my head off. The economy is part of the reason. Justin is now a licensed barber and is building a business but it will take awhile and so we have the great joy of having he and my two beautiful granddaughters live with us. Soon they hope to have there own home and I will miss them like crazy. I had double knee joint replacement surgery in October and I can't tell you what a wonderful help they all were to me. My husband was the best and still helps me in so many ways. This is why I am so very blessed. I hope to see many of my classmates at the reunion this year. Peggy and Shirley have really worked hard on this event. I was missing in action part of the time so they plunged ahead and have been incredible, it is going to be a GREAT reunion.

ny's death. I miss him so much. On a good note, my husband Ken has a job he loves with Lockheed Martin and works mostly from a home office. Saves having to drive in the snow and the traffic. My son made a big life decision and is now in Barber school and loves it. He already has a chair in an established shop. He has a wonderful girlfriend, Melissa. The girls adore her and needed her. I am now back in the medical field working with an old friend at a doctors office as a scheduler. I love it. I am working parttime and it is a good thing, I had to have knee
surgery and then got a blood clot, blah, blah, blah. I am on the mend and keeping busy as usual. My granddaughters are the light of my life. I wish I could bottle the happiness they bring to all of us.
Now bring it on 2008!
11/8/06 This has been a traumatic year for us. Our wonderful daughter-in-law(she was only 25) died from an accidental overdose of medications leaving our son and granddaughters to grieve a very big loss in their lives. Probably the most difficult thing I have had to deal with in my life, the Cancer seems like cake now. My husbands best friend also died suddenly at the young age of 49. So we are very ready for a new, better year to start.
March 29, 2006, Well here's something I hadn't planned on in my life. I am recovering from a hysterectomy for ovarian cancer. I'm actually doing very well, thanks to some great doctors who worked very fast. Just a little bump in the road. EVERYONE please get regular check ups and report ANY symptoms that are unusal, that is what saved me. ( Initial listing 2003)I married Ken Palmer Nov 1978, we have a son Justin, born in Tucson 4/20/1980 and we now live in Aurora, Colorado. I've worked in the medical field all my working career, until 2001 and I changed to assisting a wealth manager. Ken's a computer programmer, and Justin will be going to school for a business degree. I love hearing from classmates from '64 and '65. UPDATE I now have a beautiful granddaughter born 020202, her name is Sydney Alexis Palmer. What a thrill this is. 04/04 UPDATE, we now have a second granddaughter born April 17, 2004 Ryleigh Aspen Palmer, they are the joys of my life.
