Joan's Story
Well gang if you are reading this it looks like we all made it to the Senior years. It still seems like only yesterday we were just graduating with the future before us. The time went by so fast I forgot to do a lot of things I wanted to do in my life. I married too young before giving life a chance for me to see what was in it. Sure do have a lot of regrets but for the most part I am very happy with the out come. My fist marriage to Jim Archdekin, class of '59, lasted almost 15 years and produced 6 children. My fist born son died 2 days after birth from lung problems that now they know how to fix with steroids. Next came 3 girls, 1 boy, and then another girl. (Jim Jr., Janene,Joanie,Jocelyn,James, and Janey.)The day my divorced was final I married again the same day to my present husband Wes Jones. We have been married almost 41 years now. No children between us. I thought 8 between us was enough. They all grew up too fast and the grandkids started coming really fast. Have too many to list or bore you with. There are 20 of them and 13 of them live ne...Expand for more
ar me. They include 1 set of quads(2 boys 2 girls),and Twins. Feel blessed they all turned out to be wonderful. With my second marriage we traveled to many states and always came back to Northern Nevada and really love it here. Haven't returned to California since 1999 when my mom died. We brought my dad back up here to take care of him until he died in 2002 from cancer he got when working at Lockheed. In between all of this was a lot joy and happiness that all families enjoy. I hope all of you have had that wonderful life too. Last year my best friend from Jr. and Sr.High School, class of 59 died. We had planned to meet in Reno again but we lost her. I know a lot of you remember her, Carolyn Hilton. We had kept in contact all these years, laughed and cried together. I still feel this loss and always will. I loved her very much, she was like a sister to me. With this note I will end my page. Live life like there is no tomorrow and enjoy life what is left of it. See you in my dreams.
