Life I read what I wrote several years ago and a lot has changed, a lot has not. I've become a caregiver to my parents, with my mom dying this past year after a long bout of Parkinson's. Dad is an active 86 year old who added multiple dimensions to my medical experience with not one, but two major leg wounds. Brouck has lost his parents and step-dad, and we're all helping his step-mom navigate into assisted care. Getting older isn't for sissies. I am married without children, living in Florida. I have lived in the San Francisco area, Memphis and Arkansas. I have been fortunate to visit just about everywhere but the upper midwest (Michigan in spite of people having insisted I've been there - doppelganger?) and Alaska. The sand in my shoes always brought me back to Florida. It is my plan to stay, except on a vacation in the VERY distant future. My husband Brouck and I have been married for 26 years. We continue to slog through the medical system following his neck surgery and complications. I know more about the medical system than I ever wanted to know! When the pharmacy asks me what my first name is, i say "Next!". ;-) Using humor (sick and otherwise) we are successfully meeting various challenges. Without the strength of the Lord, I would be a puddle. Thanks again to those who witnessed to me.
