Joan's Story
Joan is from Lincoln, California. My schools include Hayward High School. I am married, my husband is a retired Naval Officer who served over 20 years. I retired from Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, after 21 years. I have lived in many places including; San Francisco, Castro Valley, Chico, Livermore, Pleasanton, Danville, Tucson, AZ, and retired in the Lincoln Hills Community. There are many amenities in LHC to stay busy and enjoy the casual life, everything from; swimming, baseball, bocce ball, different card games, golf, crafts, dancing, professional concerts, planned trips, many clubs, and much more. My husband enjoys playing in the poker clubs.
Remembering back! Music of the 50's was great. Some personal favorites were; Elvis Presley-"Don't Be Cruel"; The Platters-"The Great Pretender"; The Flamingos- "I Only Have Eyes For You"; Sam Cook-"You Send Me"; Johnnie Ray-"Cry"-Paul Anka "Diana"; and so many more. Bring back memories for any of you from that era?
One thing that stands out in my mind of those days, was the Friday Night Football games. I would yell so hard, that the whole next week I was hoarse, until the following Friday then I would be fine. Presently, the television shows I like include; The Amazing Race, Dancing with the Stars, Downton Abbey, and many other series. Right now, we are into "A Place To Call Home" series, and it is super good.
Movies I like are; funny, tear-jerkers, mysteries, and anything with Tom Hanks in it. My favorite and most memorable film of Hank's is "Philadelphia."

My husband and I just completed something we have wanted to do for a long time. We filled out our DNA kits, and will know in about 8 weeks, if we are more or different than we have thought all our lives. I plan to be surprised, I hope! Any of you done this recently?

Oh, so sad with the results of the Warriors Championship game. We just didn't make it this time. Labron James was too much for our team. However, much respect for him and his Cavaliers team, they deserved to win.
