Joan's Story
I married my high school sweetheart and we will celebrate our 50th anniversary in 2009. We have
three children and four grandchildren.
I spent 29 1/2 wonderful years as an Air Force spouse. I spent those years raising a family and volunteering in an organization that helped military families.
When my children started college, I started working for a salary. I worked for SUNY at the Rome Center and Embry Riddle Aeronautical University as a registrar.
Our Air Force travels took us all over the world with Guam, Cheyenne, Wyoming and Rome New York being my favorite duty stations.
My husband retired in 1987 and we moved to Minerva, NY, in the heart of the Adirondack Mountains. At that time I went into Property Management and Real Estate. Although I have retired from Property Management, I still am ...Expand for more

We travel as much as we can, with favorite vacations in Zihuatenajo, Mexico, Alaska, Wyoming, traveling
in our RV and Cruising.
I have been working on our class reunion with Barb Silberg Blassberg and Helen Jones Middleton which has been fun.(catching up with these old friendships) The fun part for me is getting the questionnaires back from classmates and finding out what they have been doing for the past 50 years.
Ed and I are going on a 50th Anniversary cruise.We will leave out of Ft Lauderdale on the Ruby Princess,
cross the Atlantic, visit the Madera Islands, stop in Gibralter to see the rock then spend 20 days touring the Mediterranean, all the way to Turkey. Guess it will be worth being married to the same man for 50 years! (November 16 1959)
