Joann's Story

Hey Everman! This is not a story but a way for me to share a few thoughts and walk down memory lane. Forgive my rambling...just taking these random, unconnected memories/thoughts and sharing them!!. The two people from my past that I'd most like to see again are Sue Bailey and Cherie Fuller because we were great friends and I would really like to know how they are, where they landed and what they have been doing the last several years. Do they still have those same infectious laughs and love of life? I can still see Cherie and Lillian in biology class plotting some after school caper and hear Sue laughing that crazy laugh the whole time she was cheering on our win starved football team!! I would also enjoy the opportunity to see Mrs. Leuth, Ms.Keith and Ms. Kanouse, three of my favorite teachers from high school who encouraged and inspired me. They believed in me and my dreams even when I doubted myself. Anyone know where they are? I would love to thank them. My first crush was Melvin Polk. He was one of the nicest guys in junior high and high school. Not too bad on the eyes either. I havent seen him in several years but last time I did, I reminded him how he broke up with me at the first coke break....without explanation! Well...maybe I knew why but without letting me explain!! i blame the whole thing on Super Duck... I owe him one!!! One of my best friends at Everman was Super Duck, the infamous! We became fast friends in junior high and are still close. In fact, he is probably the only friend from high school with whom I m...Expand for more
aintain regular contact. He doesn't let me call him Super Duck any more..it is Rod now. I guess calling a half a century old man Super Duck is probably not too appropriate but I still remember when he was nothing less than super on the football field. He is still Mr. Personality and can entice a lamp post into a half hour conversation! He still has that wonderful ability to make all of his friends feel special. Now there is a little Super Duck running around that has transformed Papa Duck into a mere mortal with hockey and football transport duty! My how life changes. I am in periodic touch with Starvin Marvin aka Larry Lewis. Who would have thought Larry would ever weigh more than 160 lbs..well he does. He also has several degrees including a PHD...you go Larry!! I always knew you were something special but you exceeded my expectations. For the record, I am not as nerdy as I was in high school. I actually turned out just fine but with a lot of growing and living!! Why didn't one of you tell me I wasn't as cool or cute as I thought I was in high school? I never realized I was a nerd until I looked back at some of those photos!! Shame on you for not pulling me aside and telling me to put the books down and get a life...some daisy dukes(or hot pants as we called them) and to cut that hair, shed those glasses and find some makeup!! Oh well, better late than never!!! Share your memories of our high school days. I would love to read them and really look forward to hearing all about each of you, your families and how your lives have been.
