Joann's Story
This is kind of weird but...if you're really a friend you will know where I'm coming from, and if you're not, you don't matter. I thankfully moved out of P'Burg and got my daughter out before she ended up going in the same direction most of us went (partying instead of progressing). I moved to the shore and for a while I felt weird when it was Tuesday night and I wasn't out shooting pool in the league, and when Wednesday night rolled around, and there was no mug night, let alone Friday's Happy Hour at Jim's Tavern. n Seaside Heights for two years. My daughter fell in love and moved out on her own and I then moved to north Jersey to attend college in NYC (thanks to one of my best friends...You Rock, Donna Roan Eldridge!!!) After I graduated from FIT I worked in Manhattan for a while but had had it with the congestion and the commute. I then moved to Nazareth PA, got a job, and got injured at work. After almost 2 years, two surgeries and extensive physical therapy, I am now going to NCC as an Education major and plan to become a teacher, which as a child is what I wanted to be when I grew up. I still go out once in a while, but never mind being the designated driver since getting drunk is no longer a priority for me. I have reconnected with some old friends and we even go to the Hilltop for Happy Hour on an occasional Friday. Maybe I'll see an old friend there...
