Joanne's Story
Although I actually graduated from Piscataway HS (NJ), I only attended my senior year there, so I feel more attached to Evergreen HS (WA) near where I grew up.
After graduating, I went to a Junior college for computer sciences, and for the next 10 years worked for Dow Jones in S. Brunswick, NJ. Along the way, I met and married Michael and became the step-mom of two great girls. From NJ Michael and I followed job opportunities to northern Virginia, where our son was born. After 8 years there, we moved on to Raleigh, NC (wonderful, gorgeous place to live). We had hoped our next move would be Atlanta, GA, but we took a right off of 95 and ended up outside of Dallas. ourselves completely.
I took up pool (enjoy it, not so great at it though), genealogy (it's amazing to find out things our parents would never have told us), some acting (in our community's theater) and writing (short fictional stories for my own satisfaction, although I did contribute to a self-published book our community put out ).
I get back to Seattle once a year to see my Mom who still lives downtown. I rarely get back to New Jersey as my Dad and stepmom are now living in Arizona. When we do go back, we see the oldest daughter who lives in Bordentown, and then the youngest one who lives in upstate New York. Our son lives within hounding distance, which suits me fine (not so sure about his view on that).
All in all, I'm content, happy and looking forward to each new chapter life brings.
