Joanne's Story
Life
Bio. Biography. The story of one's life. How the hell do I make this even remotely interesting?
Graduated in 1977 and went to work less than a month later in downtown Mpls. (in the IDS Center, no less! Well, it was a big deal back then!) Married in 1981. Divorced in 2006. Two boys, now ages 24 and 22, still living at home, which is a mobile home ("trailer trash" jokes not allowed) in Wyoming, MN. The ex moved out, so it's just me and the boys, at least for now. I'm a medical transcriptionist working from home, and most days I like my job. The bennies are good.
We've got five kitties, all of them rescues. I'm a sucker for animals. I've always wanted a dog, but until I have an extra $1000 lying around that I can use to fence in the yard, I'll have to go without man's best friend. (I get so jealous when I see people driving around with their dogs in the front seat!)
I just recently discovered the joys of traveling, and my on-again-off-again drives-...Expand for more
me-crazy "boyfriend" travels a lot, so that works out well. I took my first plane flight in 2006, so I'm definitely a late bloomer in the traveling department, but I surprised myself by loving it (especially take-off!). I've been to Spokane, San Diego (twice -- my favorite!), Kenosha, Chicago, Iowa City, Corpus Christi, South Dakota (Mt. Rushmore/Badlands/Deadwood/Black Hills), and Las Vegas, and I hope there are a lot more trips in my future. I've got a lot of catching up to do!
I love concerts (Petty rocks!), eating out, and tinkering with eBay (I sell mainly vintage jewelry).
So that's my life. The older I get, the less I'm sure about, but I do know that the most important things to me are God, family, loving what I do and doing what I love, and always staying curious about the world and the people who inhabit it. Life is short. As the Great William Shatner (yes, you heard me, "The Shat"!) once said, "Live your life like you're gonna die. Because you're gonna."
